The servers were on top of their game and made the entire night of a success. They were very helpful and attentive. And another plus the food was absolutely amazing. “ Picture this: you've committed yourself to spending NYE solo, seeing a movie and grabbing dinner after. You head to the Landmark Ritz and figure you'll "walk home and stumble in somewhere." You leave the movie theatre only to realize it's pouring and stumbling anywhere is now out. You look up at the shining restaurant on the hill. "Could it be?" you think to yourself. You walk up the steps, hope in your heart but ready for disappointment, only to have the host say "we can absolutely squeeze you into our last bar seat!" Knowing that my fellow diners probably sold their souls for a NYE Zahav reservation, I felt like I somehow cheated the gods. I honestly wasn't sure I'd ever get to Zahav primarily because I didn't feel the need to. I enjoy Dizengoff frequently, love Laser Wolf, and just didn't feel the Zahav experience would be that different. If I am being honest...it is not that different! Same smokey char on most dishes, same delish bread, same attention to perfection, same high level service. That being said, this space is so beautiful and it does have some special alchemy that's working in it's favor. Huge shout out to bartender Ben for recs on salatim combos and all of the wonderful food runners who explained each dish with care. I went a la carte (another benefit of the bar!) and ordered the salatim and steak with a gorgeous glass of cava - WOW. This steak is not to be missed. I had to apologize to the bar seats next to me for "manspreading" as all of the dishes do take up a lot of space as a solo diner. Much easier to share between two and more likely the way to go so you can try more of the dishes. I feel so lucky to have dined at this Philly institution and would love to bring my parents at some point in the near future. Thank you to the entire team for making my holiday so special. ”

“ After years of trying to secure a reservation at Zahav, we were thrilled to finally experience this iconic spot. The food was undeniably delicious--each dish was bursting with flavor, and the attention to detail in the presentation was impressive. However, in my opinion, Zahav is a bit overrated. While the meal was enjoyable, it didn't quite live up to the years of hype and the difficulty of getting a reservation. For the price and the reputation, I expected a more extraordinary experience. Instead, it felt like a good meal, but not one that justifies the effort to get a table and the price attached to it. I'm glad we had the opportunity to try it, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it again. ”

“ Long due! Finally went for the pre-fixe this summer. Zahav is one of the most popular places in Philly when it comes to fine dining, I'll go even further to say it is probably even the top spot when you think about fine dining. Their service and attention to detail is commendable. I found everything absolutely delicious except the extremely popular (can't recall if it is two weeks or 21 days?) dry aged duck and I was honestly disappointed in myself more than the duck for not liking it. I was so excited to try it but it just isn't my cup of tea. I don't think I'll go for the pre-fixe anymore, partly because I feel like I have had better experiences (twice) with the food sitting at the bar and ordering whatever I want to vs making the reservation for the 5 course pre-fixe menu. Special shout out to Anthony and Jose - both are amazing and show utmost care and attention for the patrons. ”

“ Celebrating my birthday here, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Zahav. For $85 per person, we got plenty of food, and everything from the appetizers to dessert was delicious. The service was excellent, and our server was friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth trying, even though it's hard to get a reservation ”

“ WOW! The food and service at Zahav was absolutely incredible! At first I was skeptical about the family-style serving (because I didn't think it would be enough food for our party of 5) but boy was I wrong! Our server started by giving us an overview of menu & immediately got started on our drinks and appetizers. Before I knew it , plates and plates of food were coming out quickly & we couldn't wait to dig in! My favorite part of the meal was "In The Beginning." Each dish served with the hummus and laffa bread from was unique and flavorful in its own way (did I mention the LAFFA BREAD?!) For our main dish, we chose the lamb shoulder & it was more than enough for 5 people to share. A 10/10 experience - I can't WAIT to go back! Note: I highly recommend going with a large party so you can try most of the menu items! ”

I could see why it's so hard to get resy for this place! The only negative about this place was this dessert I got. It was so horrible the minute we took a bite of it, we were searching for water. I am sure everyone has different pallets and it's good for some but my friend and I weren't a fan! ”
